The way I handle commissioned paintings is as follows:

• I work from your photographs, so you must send me one or more good quality photos of what you want. The better the photos, the better the painting will be! Photographs taken with good lighting and distinct shadows are the best.

• We will then discuss details of the painting and when you need it. For example, you may have sent a photo of your home taken during the winter and the trees are bare, but you want the painting to show leaves on the trees. Or the photo of your pet might show him with a dirty beard and you would like me to paint him with a clean face.  A variety of changes can be made from your original photo, but if the variations are numerous and complicated, it might be better for you to take some more photos that more accurately portray the painting you want.

• We will agree upon the final size of the painting, any color changes from your photos, whether you want it matted and/or framed, and any other details you want to discuss.

• I will issue you an invoice for the total amount (plus shipping) and you will pay a 50% deposit. {Prices usually range from $250-$450 depending on size and complexity)

• When I receive your deposit, I will do the painting.

• I will send you a picture of the painting by email and you can let me know if you are 100% happy with it or if you want some minor adjustments. Watercolor is not as forgiving as oil or acrylic, but some modifications can definitely be made. For example, I can darken a dog’s fur or add some more leaves to a tree.

• Once you are 100% happy with the product, you will pay the balance due and I will ship the painting to you.

• I would love to receive a photo of the painting hanging in your home!

• And if you would like merchandise with the image on it (for example, greeting cards or coasters or pillows or tote bags), please let me know and this can be arranged.
